Mmm. I see what you mean. Very disheartening. James.

Thanks James. I'm happy to see children, especially ones with special needs, get involved in gardening but on an allotment site they must surely be supervised closely and properly at all times. According to other holders that wasn't happening.

How incredibly unthinking of those 'supervising' to allow something like this to happen; no wonder you're feeling miffed!
| MrFlighty [Member] 25/11/07 @ 18:42 |
Miffed indeed! Hopefully unthinking rather than uncaring, which still doesn't excuse what happened.

Yes it would be worse wouldn't it if those in charge were uncaring too.

No matter what the circumstances, it doesn't compensate your feelings for all the hard work you've put in on the allotment.
I hope the letter does some good.

You're so right! I'll let you know when I get a reply.

Sounds like a frustrating day.

Considering that I like to relax on a Sunday it was indeed!

The major problem is that everyone is so afraid to tell off anyone in their charge (including special needs) that kids these days are just let run riot. The plot is essentially private property and they were causing damage. I'm glad you are reporting it; all too often these things are allowed to let go by with no complaint. If you don't stand up now then it will only happen again.

I think that you're right in what you say, sadly. I'm not one to let things like this go unreported. It's because we so often don't take a stand that they carry on.

No wonder you are fuming. You have put so much work into getting the allotment tidy. The children should have been properly supervised and you are right to complain.

I'll be there in the morning to tidy up. Hopefully it's not as bad as it seemed when I first saw it yesterday.
The council have contacted the school and will get back to me once they've responded. It'll be interesting to see what they say about it.
