Last Saturday EthelRed went to the Large Model Aircraft Show at RAFCosford.
These are very impressive as you can see with Dave Johnson's DC-3.
There are other people who build models that are considerably smaller !
Be it large or small, flying or non-flying I do admire anyone who has the skill and patience to make such models.
I suspect that for them it's much more than a hobby !

Yes, me too! It's a minor niggle at present, but it's bound to get worse unfortunately.

The tiny models are intriguing but I prefer the larger ones as they can fly.
I am not sure whether I have seen Dave Johnson's DC3, will have to keep a look out for it if I attend any more shows.

Like you I prefer the flying models. It would be fascinating if the tiny ones could wouldn't it!
I chose the DC-3 as it really shows just how big a large model aircraft can be. I bet that it's an impressive sight when it does fly.

There are people here, Mr F, who spend hours on the fine detail of model boats they make from scratch, even to portholes so you can see what furnishings and paraphernalia is included below decks. The boats with sails and riggings of all varieties are very fiddly, time consuming and often they are proudly sitting in someone's window to be admired as you walk past.
there are shows here too, for the model makers. The same love and patience is injected into the craft work whatever the type of model it is.

I find such such detailing quiet amazing. I've always liked going to model shows of any kind.

Recently, one very proud boat model maker paid us a visit with his work, prepared for a competition I think. He'd used such imagination to make equipment on deck and the items for below deck from all sorts of odds and sods. I gazed in sheer delight and wonderment at the artistry. Here I was, able to touch the art work and peer inside, with my own private showing on my table!
